Description:
Manufacturing company outside of Valdosta GA looking for a Manufacturing Engineer in the Packaging industry. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for planning, developing, designing, and coordinating manufacturing improvements within the assigned Small Packaging Metal facilities. This role requires evaluating manufacturing processes to enhance product quality, improve process efficiencies, and enhance machine reliability. Additionally, the Manufacturing Engineer will work on optimizing work flow, validating implemented improvements, preparing manufacturing process documentation, and conducting failure analyses.Relocation to the Valdosta area is provided!!Responsibilities:Manage cost reduction projects, including writing AFE update reports.Monitor and enhance machine processes, develop work instructions, and provide training to employees.Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by utilizing downtime tracking tools and creating pareto charts of downtime events.Utilize IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) or Industry 4.0 technologies to collect data using integrated downtime tracking tools.Actively participate in implementing safety improvements.Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes through the design and implementation of research programs.Assist in determining root causes and implementing corrective actions for customer product complaints.Contribute to projects aimed at reducing downtime and scrap.Organize, plan, and commission new or modified production lines.Investigate operational problems affecting production in a systematic and methodical manner.Validate implemented manufacturing process improvements to ensure desired results and long-term sustainability.Develop appropriate manufacturing process documentation for integration into the company's quality system.Provide training to operators, supervisors, and managers on new or modified processes.Requirements/Skills: Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline, preferably in manufacturing, mechanical, or industrial engineering.Recent graduate to 2+ years of experience in engineering or manufacturing functions.Working knowledge of high-volume manufacturing processes.Familiarity with manufacturing and quality improvement methods, including Lean Manufacturing concepts.Desired attainment of nationally recognized certification in manufacturing engineering, such as AME or SME.Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently or in a team environment with limited supervision.Excellent computer and data analysis skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Experience with SAP and data analysis tools like Minitab is a plus.
