JOB TITLE: Manufacturing Engineer REPORTS TO: Assistant Manager of Engineering General Summary- Perform detailed and complex job functions (ie. normal course of business activities). Investigate and recommend ways to improve efficiencies of daily job activities. Principle Duties & Responsibilities Write process design specifications Analyze blue prints and interpret technical data Develop engineering plan (control plans, PFMEA's, raw material specifications, process control parameters, CP calculations, etc.) Implement engineering plans by evaluating current situations Develop machine and tooling specifications Handle capital expenditure budget acquisition and control Procure machinery and tooling Develop schedule and coordinate activities of machinery and tooling suppliers Design equipment layouts for individual lines, cells, and zones Oversee manufacture of product for pre-production trials Train manufacturing members on new and improved processes Perform other duties as assigned in order to ensure achievement of section, department, or company plan Skills & Abilities Required Ability to prioritize work load Effective planning and implementation skills Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team Knowledge of machine mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, and materials Effective trouble-shooting skills Strong "hands-on" ability Capable of reading and understanding schematics Basic Computer skills Minimum Level of Preparation & Training Required A High School diploma or equivalent is required A Bachelor's degree or related work experience is required
