Manufacturing Accountant Job Locations US-WI-Mayville Job ID 2023-3298 # of Openings 1 Category Accounting/Finance Type Regular Full-Time Overview The Manufacturing Accountant applies principles of cost accounting to conduct studies and analysis providing detailed cost information required to set manufacturing standards, report performance against those standards, and generally develop improved accuracy of production transactions and inventory valuation by performing the following duties. Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.Support of period end close process including JE's and management reporting.Responsible for month end product cost, inventory valuation, and other reporting.Involvement in manufacturing spending analysis and monitoring of plant metrics.Assists in gathering necessary account information and documents to perform annual financial reviewsProduct cost analysis on multiple business units for labor and purchase content opportunities.Review and analysis of master data including material master, BOM, and Routings.Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and proceduresPromotes and demonstrates Metalcraft core valuesOther duties as assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Strong analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principles with a desire to learn cost accounting.Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Knowledge of general financial accounting.Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.Understanding of Financial Accounting required for month end close process and support of other Accounting duties as needed.Ability to work independently while supporting department goals.Education and/or ExperienceRequires education equivalent to a bachelor's degree in accounting from a four-year college or university. Computer SkillsTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office suite to include pivot tables, lookups and advanced formula writing. Knowledge of SAP preferred. Reasoning AbilityAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical information in mathematical form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
