JOB DESCRIPTION OPEX Corporation has a full-time first shift opportunity for a Manual Machinist to work in our 180,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Pennsauken, NJ. We are looking for dependable, organized, mechanically skilled individuals for this opening. If you are a punctual, communicative, diligent, and detail-oriented individual that works well with a team then OPEX may be the right place for you to pursue your career.Essential Responsibilities * Set up and operate miscellaneous manual machine shop equipment including mills, lathes, drill presses, tapping heads, arbor press, and surface and OD grinders. * Maintain a clean, safe work area. * Perform daily maintenance of machines as required and keep supervisor informed of necessary maintenance beyond operator ability. * Must read and understand layouts, job packets and blueprints for parts being run. * Inspect parts using micrometer, gages, and related inspection instruments. * Perform necessary side operations during machine cycle time as required (i.e. deburring) * Work as a team member to aid all shifts and support personnel to operate to departmental standards including quality, productivity, organizational, and safety goals. * Other duties as assigned. QualificationsPosition Requirements: * High school, or equivalent Skills/Abilities/Competencies: * Ability to perform a sequence of operations under minimum supervision and consistently maintain the performance levels set for quality and quantity. * Understanding of safety rules and regulations to prevent unsafe set-ups, operations, or acts which might cause injury to self, others, or environment. * Ability to work through daily operational activities. * Good interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills * Ability to plan effectively and execute the plans. * Strong mechanical aptitude. * Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills. * Must have strong PC skills and ability to work with Microsoft products Physical/Work Environments * Worker will be working in a machine shop setting. * Worker must be able to lift 50 pounds. * Worker must be able to stand throughout duration of their shift.
