We Offer: Affordable staff meals in our onsite cafe Regular Staff Appreciation events Employee Assistance Program HEPP Pension HEB Benefits including Health & Dental POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the CEO, the Manager of Resident Experience is a member of the Leadership Team and is responsible for planning, coordinating, directing and monitoring all resident programs and recreation activities within the Centre, ensuring those activities are aligned to The Saul & Claribel Simkin Centre’s strategic plan, mission and values while meeting the individual needs of all residents. The specific areas of responsibility include Therapeutic Recreation, Adult Day Program, Companions & Volunteers, Music Therapy, Resident Visitation, Summer Students and Spiritual Health Department. EDUCATION Post-secondary diploma or degree from a recognized institution in the field of recreation, therapeutic recreation, wellness, gerontology, kinesiology or a related field Possesses the education, training and experience required to fulfill the duties needed to manage the multiple departments listed above A certificate in Health Care Management is an asset EXPERIENCE Has a minimum of 5 years of leadership experience Has experience in long term care management Experience recruiting and managing volunteers would be an asset Possess training in gerontology and special needs relating.
