We want every customer to have access to financing for their dream ride . As part of our continual growth, we have an immediate need for an experienced Manager of Underwriting - Consumer Loans to join our team. This position will work from our offices in Beverly, MA or Irving, TX. The Underwriting Manager is responsible for supporting the Senior Vice President of Loan Originations with the daily leadership and management of consumer loan originations. The Underwriting Manager plays a key role in the achievement of targeted consumer growth, risk mitigation, credit and compliance quality and customer/dealer service expectations. The Underwriting Manager develops, implements, and maintains growth, credit quality, and risk management strategies to improve loan operations. Key Responsibilities Promotes a service first culture in all aspects of consumer loan originations. Collaborates with staff to ensure timely information exchange, positive interaction, and minimal negative impact on people, technology, or process. Demonstrates an expertise in lending compliance and underwriting rules, guidelines, procedures, and related servicing systems, approving exceptions as required Mitigates risk through robust training, loan analysis and credit reviews, and utilizing technology to review and analyze loan reports. Provides loan product and service support to internal staff as well as external partners. Proactively anticipates and recognizes departmental needs and develops solutions to mitigate disruption throughout the process. Promotes success, by recognizing and implementing service-related enhancements . Creates, modifies prepares, and maintains reports as requested by senior leadership. Anticipates future needs and weigh future impact on current decision making. Troubleshoots issues in a timely manner and escalates as needed Adheres to all local, state, and federal laws/regulatory requirements as related to functional areas. Remains current with required trainings, to include AFSA Qualifications and Requirements 5+ years of supervisor experience with proven success in driving results and exceeding goals 2+ years of experience originating loans specific to auto, motorcycles, powersports units, personal watercraft, RVs or marine units is preferred. Proven ability to lead, motivate and successfully manage a team. Must be able to develop the skills of team members through goal-setting, delegation, training, and performance management. Outstanding analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills. Possess and apply critical thinking skills to ensure all actions rendered by the team does not create any undue risk for lenders serviced. Outstanding analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills Ability to effectively communicate via multiple communication channels (phone, email, text and/or mail) with various groups. Adept at utilizing most current technology and software to manage the loan origination pipeline through all phases. The candidate should be detail-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Able to work varied shifts including, but not limited to, nights and weekends.
