Closing Date: January 7, 2024 Reporting to the Director, Metal Sales & Marketing, the Manager, Materials Stewardship designs and implements programs, considers a life cycle approach and partners closely across the Commercial function and the Teck Material Stewardship Team (MST) to lead the development of material stewardship programs and provide product stewardship direction. This includes: Understands the regulatory space for Teck’s products & ensures products are used in a responsible manner to minimize regulatory, reputational, environmental or stewardship risks. Provides direction and builds systems for the Materials Stewardship Team, aligning these practices into Teck’s ESG (Responsible Production? ) targets and integrates the outcomes into Teck product offerings. Representing Base Metal Marketing on the Materials Stewardship Team and ensures that relevant topics such as KYC and Circular economy are properly considered by appropriate Commercial Team members. The Materials Stewardship Team is responsible for monitoring the responsible use of our products and, at our operations, we track and report on waste and are implementing waste reduction and recycling programs. Goal is to be a leader in product stewardship by continuing to implement our Materials Stewardship program and produce secondary metals at our Trail Operations. Responsibilities: Understand the global product stewardship programs such as EU Reach Consortia & K-Reach across multiple products (Zinc, Lead, Copper, Indium, Cadmium, Germanium etc). This requires ability to understand the regulatory process and subject matter experts for the various physical and chemical properties of >40 Teck products. Coordinate with ICMM Materials Stewardship Facility & other forums for effective solutions to cross-commodity stewardship challenges across the entire supply chain e. g. GHS; IMO bulk cargo regulations; Product passport, traceability etc. Provide leadership and enhance Teck’s. Visit ListedBuy for more information.
