Position Summary: The Strategy and Engagement team is looking for a Manager, Market Research & Intelligence, with a firm understanding of public and corporate affairs and the issues management space. This associate will apply primary and secondary research to solve challenging problems and contextualize a variety of critical business issues. In this role, the associate will develop and deliver landscape analyses, stakeholder mapping, and crisis and issues reporting leveraging a mix of analytics tools and research methodologies. A key to success will be communicating and presenting data-backed insights in a compelling manner to influence senior leaders and inform strategic initiatives, communications strategies, and business priorities. Responsibilities Lead issues monitoring and reporting around key topics and event-based moments through social listening, media, and stakeholder analysis methodologiesDevelop research agendas and measurement approaches in partnership with EA teams to inform business actionOversee the full life-cycle of a research project, including managing analysts and partnering with research vendorsLeverage and integrate primary research and media monitoring to produce ad hoc and recurring reports for leadershipDistill complex data into simple KPIs, data visualizations, dashboards, or scorecardsSpot and propose opportunities to bring deeper intelligence to the team around key audiences, issues, or the competitive landscapeMaintain knowledge of industry trends related to market and media research methodologiesLeverage tools such as Brandwatch, Tableau, YouGov, MRI, and Mintel We recognize that many life paths can contribute to interest in this role. Basic Qualifications High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certificationAt least 5 years of experience in an insights and analytics function, market research, or management consulting environment or any combination of the threeAt least 5 years of public affairs and crisis/issues management experienceAt least 3 years using media monitoring and social listening toolsAt least 1 year of people leadership experience Preferred Qualifications At least 2 years of experience using boolean search and query buildingAt least 2 years of people leadership experienceAt least 2 years of guiding others through quantitative and qualitative research methodologiesRobust understanding of the policy, regulatory and issues management space At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position. The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $147,800 - $168,700 for Manager, Market ResearchCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
