More specifically, in this role you will: Provide strategic, clear, and contextualized legal advice on a variety of complex issues and topicsTranslate laws, regulations, and legal requirements tailored to specific business processes, practices, and initiativesBuild deep relationships and collaborate with business stakeholders in wide-ranging rolesClosely collaborate with members of the Legal Department to provide advice in a consistent, well-reasoned mannerWork autonomously, understand and appropriately prioritize business needs, and develop creative solutions to meet needs/goals A successful candidate will display: Strong written and oral communication skillsThe ability to take complex ideas/problems and distill them into simple concepts/solutionsThe ability to advise in ambiguous circumstancesThe ability to influence and drive consensus across multiple groups and levelsA successful track record of thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervisionThe willingness to tackle new challenges and novel legal issues Basic Qualifications: Juris Doctor from an accredited law schoolMember in good standing of at least one state barAt least 3 years of experience in a law firm, governmental agency, or as in-house counsel, working on consumer finance litigation or regulatory compliance Preferred Qualifications: At least 4+ years of experience in a law firm, governmental agency, or as in-house counsel, work in consumer finance or regulatory complianceKnowledge of, and proficiency with, financial and consumer protection lawsExperience working with and understanding Artificial Intelligence (Ai), technology, data, and process improvement At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.
