POSITION OVERVIEW: Candidate must be able to demonstrate high level of proficiency in a minimum of four (4) of the skill areas listed, and must be able to drive a fork lift. Those skills may include: Machine Shop skills, Welding and Burning, Pipefitting, Instrumentation, Millwriting, Line Attendant and Changeover, Electrical, Electric, Vehicle Maintenance, Building Maintenance, and Refrigeration. The skill areas will be designated based upon skill mix requirements of the department. The candidate must also maintain average proficiency in other skill areas so that one may assist in projects and other maintenance work as needed. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Proficiently operate and maintain all shop equipment. Prepare work satisfactorily. Install, service, and repair piping components such as valves, traps, strainers and filters, checks, pressure regulating valves, gauges, and meters. Troubleshoot and make effective repairs and/or adjustments to both electronic & pneumatic instrumentation. Set, level, align and adjust critical equipment such as air compressors, motors, pumps couplings, etc. where misalignment, vibration and high speed are important factors. Install, operate & maintain all equipment associated with packaging line operation. Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams and install conduit, wiring, control panels and control centers. Read and interpret electronic schematics. Troubleshoot and repair electronic circuitry. Perform complete inspection of all mechanical, electrical and hydraulic components. Report inspection results and coordinate ordering of repair material & lift trucks. Install, operate, and maintain equipment associated with processing, pressing and lift trucks. Operate and is responsible for compressors, condensers, cooling towers & all allied refrigeration equipment 7 controls as required for efficient safe plant operation. Responsible for the performance of all maintenance as required for the proper operation of the above equipment. Other duties required contributing to the achievement of group goals in the areas of safety, quality, appearance, reliability, cost and continuous improvement. Self-motivation with little direction is key. Must be able to work well with others. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Applicant must pass our standard test, the minimizer (do-nothing machine), maintenance test, and electrical basics test. Experience in maintenance type work is required. Two years' experience in manufacturing maintenance is preferred.
