Maintenance Technician

Position Summary: Perform a variety of preventative and corrective maintenance tasks on plant equipment including CNC machining and assembly equipment, machine tools, HVAC, plumbing, and physical plant. Job Requirements: Good written and verbal communication skills to comprehend and provide information. Math and reading abilities at a technical school level. A strong working knowledge of reading and understanding drawings, schematics, and specifications. Good interpersonal skills required to provide information and work in a team environment Able to evaluate information in order to plan work, troubleshoot equipment, and identify root causes of issues. Education or experience equal to a two-year technical degree in a related field, or a Journeyman's card in machine or electrical repair. Demonstrated experience in multiple maintenance related fields. Computer literate with a working knowledge of basic internet and office software. Minimum of five years' experience in maintenance related field using basic tools, diagnosis equipment, and procedures. Significant Aspects and Accountabilities: Repair worn or failed mechanical, electrical, fluid, and robotic components as necessary. Assist in the installation of new or upgraded equipment. Perform preventive maintenance procedures per schedule. Maintain the facility and physical plant to preserve a safe and efficient operation. Performs other tasks and activities as directed. Mental and Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently, 40 lbs. occasionally, and greater on rare occasions. Use of assistance, human and mechanical, for weights exceeding 80 lbs. is necessary to prevent injury. Mental concentration and manual dexterity required to properly perform duties. Visual acuity required in many activities such as troubleshooting and control adjustments. Quality and Delivery Aspects: Failure to resolve issues in a timely manner can have an adverse impact on shipments. Preventive maintenance required to maintain quality standards and meet delivery schedules. Safety Aspects: Working in and around hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and robotic equipment requires vigilant use of safe work procedures. Inattention or negligent acts can result in serious injury to self or others. Improper lifting or attempt to lift excessive weight can result in injury. Improper or unsafe maintenance of equipment can result in serious injury to self and others, or damage to facility and equipment. Failure to assure the proper use of maintenance safety procedures in non-routine tasks can result in serious injury or fatality. Adherence to Lock Out/Tag Out procedures will prevent injury and equipment malfunction. Must be able to satisfactorily complete the Industrial Truck training program. Personal Protective Equipment Needs: Safety glasses are required at all times in the manufacturing areas, when performing manual tasks or operating equipment. Hearing protection is available but not required. Gloves can be worn to prevent cuts, avoid contaminants, or handle oily or hot components. Non-routine tasks may require additional PPE.
