General Description Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician will be instrumental in maintaining all equipment and building functions. Completion of equipment and machinery p.m.'s while maintaining a safe working atmosphere will be priority. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.1. Ensure focus on safety when completing all tasks.2. Maintain a safe and clean work environment.3. Complete maintenance and routine tasks to ensure functional operation and reliability of BCT assets both moveable and fixed including forklifts and overhead cranes.4. Perform and maintain P.M. logs on fixed and moveable equipment.5. Operate standard maintenance tools such as power tools, hand tools, pneumatic tools, electric tools, etc.6. Education and/or Experience · Requires high school diploma or equivalent degree and three to five years of related experience or a combination of education and experience. · General knowledge and background in electrical and mechanical controls and troubleshooting· Industrial maintenance and/or forklift and crane repair is a plus. Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Specific vision requirements for this position include close vision, color vision, and depth perception. The employee will occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and maneuver several hundred pounds a short distance. The employee will frequently lift up to 25 pounds. Employees will frequently use material handling equipment, such as forklifts and cranes. Work Environment This job operates in a factory environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is often loud enough to require hearing protection. BCT is hiring!
