Job Summary: The maintenance technician is responsible for the overall maintenance and upkeep of vacation rental properties to ensure a positive experience for guests. This role involves performing routine maintenance tasks, addressing guest requests promptly, and troubleshooting and resolving maintenance issues as they arise. Responsibilities: Conduct routine inspections of vacation rental properties to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety and cleanliness standards. Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as HVAC system inspections, appliance checks, and plumbing and electrical maintenance to prevent issues before they arise. Respond promptly to guest requests and maintenance issues reported through the property management system or by direct communication. Troubleshoot and repair maintenance issues such as appliance malfunctions, plumbing leaks, electrical problems, and HVAC issues. Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance tasks that require professional expertise, such as major repairs or renovations. Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, and ensure that necessary supplies are stocked and readily available. Ensure that vacation rental properties are clean, well-maintained, and presentable for guest arrivals. Assist with property turnovers between guest stays, including cleaning and restocking supplies as needed. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines when performing maintenance tasks to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others. Provide exceptional customer service to guests, addressing any concerns or issues promptly and professionally. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in maintenance or a related field is a plus. Proven experience in maintenance, preferably in a hospitality or property management setting. Strong knowledge of maintenance principles and techniques, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently and effectively. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests, coworkers, and vendors. Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and cleanliness. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team. Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed. Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
