JOB DESCRIPTION At Wet Noses Natural Dog Treat Company, the Maintenance Mechanic maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. We are looking for a Maintenance Mechanic with fabrication & welding experience to join our team. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES To perform the job of Maintenance Mechanic successfully; an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment during performance of duties. Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems and production machines. Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, using precision measuring and testing instruments. Report faulty operations and/or defective equipment to management. Remove defective parts by dismantling devices, using host, cranes and hand and power tools, examining form and texture of parts. Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts. Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments. Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory levels. Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Perform a variety of plumbing and building maintenance and carpentry functions. Maintain clean and orderly work areas by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Fabrication & Welding Ability to weld utilizing MIG/TIG/Stick methods. Welds together metal components as specified by layout, blueprints, diagrams, and specified operational requirements. Examines work for any defects and repairs as necessary, using the appropriate method and ensuring technical specifications are met. Ability to read blueprints, or related drawings, layout, and fabricate according to specifications. Responsible for the preparation, construction, and finishing of welds. Diverse knowledge of inspection control methods, techniques, and documentation. Understanding of the manufacturing environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Persistent and dependable, especially with attendance, deliverables, and deadlines. Forklift certified. Able to adapt to a constantly changing environment with flexibility to work extended hours.
