Position Summary: This position is responsible for performing a variety of mechanical and systems maintenance functions as assigned. Must meet requirements of Jr. Maintenance Mechanic. This position is considered an advanced position in maintenance in at least one area of expertise. Essential Functions: Responsible for continuous personal improvement to positively affect department and corporate goals. Perform high level configuration and troubleshooting for various mechanical systems including pneumatic and hydraulic. Repair, fabricate and/or weld replacement parts and components as necessary. Perform PM as required. Visually inspect work performed for distortion, burning and reliability of repair. Schedule and conduct tests on equipment and systems in accordance with established parameters. Maintain furnace systems including testing, schedule and/or perform cleaning, checking and repairing as necessary. Perform basic electrical testing and repairs. May investigate, arrange and contract outside repair assistance as required. Perform general maintenance in assigned department and/or on assigned machinery or equipment. Communicate worst case scenarios discovered in various departments. Timely and accurate completion of all paperwork associated with the position. Attend training and other exercises determined by the company necessary for maintaining and further developing skill sets. Participate in cross-training activities to enhance personal capabilities and share knowledge with others. Maintain organized and clean work area. Communicate all problems and other work related issues with supervisor. Receive, understand and follow all written and oral instruction. Resolve day-to-day issues by working effectively with others. Actively participate in improvement discussions. Advocate change/continuous improvement (go getter improver) Comply with all company policies and procedures in including safety and attendance requirements. Notify supervisor of unacceptable equipment performance to ensure issue is properly addressed. Help with dispositions on NCR's Other duties required to meet company needs as assigned by manager. Minimum Education, Skills & Abilities Must be able to speak and read & write English. Mechanical aptitude Skilled in welding to repair equipment, furnaces, machinery, etc. Basic shop math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and instruction. Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical (both facilities and equipment), mechanical, presses, ovens and industrial trucks. OSHA required training in and proper use of Lock-out / Tag-out, Hazard Communication, PPE and Emergency Evacuation. Minimum Physical Requirements 20/40 vision required with or without correction. Ability to speak and hear 100% of the work day. Ability to use hands 100% of the workday. Ability to stand and or walk 100% of the workday. Ability to bend, stoop or twist 50% of the workday. Ability to exert physical force to push, pull, lift or carry 70 pounds frequently. Ability to work in shop environment - continuous exposure to potentially hazardous metal working machinery and equipment, loud noises, dust, mist, oils and solvents. maintenance, technician, manufacturing, facilities, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, plumbing
