The Opportunity We are seeking out a Full Time Maintenance team member to assist us with the care & overall Maintenance of our 87-suite independent living senior community. Working hours are Mon-Fri, 8-4:30 with emergency on-call responsibility. Position start date: June 1, 2024 (with the option to come on-board as a Casual effective April 1, 2024). Responsibilities Executing general repair and maintenance work including painting, plastering, basic plumbing (e. g. replacing faucets, unblocking toilets), woodworking (e. g. replacing moulding, installing door etc. ) and electrical work (tasks that do not require an electrician’s license, e. g. changing light bulbs). Emptying out garbage and recycling receptacles at regular intervals in order to prevent waste from accumulating, and ensures recycling materials are stored properly. Maintaining building exterior, grounds, parking lots and building systems, with the support from outside contractors. Arranging of contractor repair work & services and maintaining great relationships with our current contractors. Light snow removal from sidewalks and doors and applies salt to ensure resident, visitor and team member safety. (We also partner with a local grounds keeping company to assist with heavy snow removal).
