Parking at a discounted price. Position Summary : The Maintenance/Facilities Technician supports the facility team to ensure buildings and building-related equipment are safe, clean and operational. They perform minor repairs and assist to coordinate contractor repairs as necessary . Essential Job Functions : Inspects and maintains building spaces to ensure they are clean, safe and operational Assists monitoring space temperatures Performs light duties that may include: Painting, carpentry, electrical, plumbing & general repairs Assist in daily cleaning tasks as necessary Requirements and Qualifications: Education: High School Education or equivalent Experience: Some experience working in building maintenance preferred. Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing and carpentry preferred. Skills: Basic electrical, plumbing and carpentry , basic working knowledge with tools , interpersonal communication , dependability, punctuality and reliable , ability to work with minimal supervision Physical Requirements, and Equipment Usage: Performs physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials is required. Position requires moving regularly and consistently during the majority of the workday. Must be able to work outdoors in all weather, being exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, use ladders and must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Work Environment, Hours of Work, and Travel Requirements: Work Environment is throughout the museum campus including working in public spaces while museum is open to the public. Typical schedule is 5 days per week 8 hours per day, availability on weekends is essential. Occasional evening availability required. Clearances: FBI fingerprint, PA Child Abuse (Act 33) and PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearances are required.
