REM Community Services is hiring a Maintenance Associate! Pay Rate: $20.00The Maintenance Associate arranges the maintenance of the physical facility, grounds, and all equipment with established vendors to ensure a safe, attractive, and enjoyable living environment for the individuals receiving services. Qualifications: Maintains ongoing preventative maintenance programs such as changing furnace filters, small drywall repair, and small painting projects as needed. Coordinates repairs and if replacements are needed will be in charge of purchasing new equipment as appropriate. Maintain good working relations with external vendors such as electricians, plumbers, and general contractors. Submits orders for maintenance supplies to the office coordinator and requests more when inventory is low. Provides necessary maintenance of all tools and small equipment Schedules fire alarm system maintenance for smoke and heat detectors, fire pulls, and fire extinguishers. Assists in monthly fire drills. Monitors and assists in basic maintenance of facility vehicles Maintains operational records, and data and monitors and enforces observance of safety regulations. Performs other related duties and activities as required. What you will bring to REM Community Services: High School diploma or equivalent and one year of related experience. Some working knowledge and ability to handle simple maintenance equipment. Will travel to the Children’s facility in Council Bluffs at least once a week or as needed via company van.
