Benefits: Health Benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription Drugs coverage) Basic Life and AD&D insurance Savings and Investment Plans / 401K + Company match Personal Time Off (PTO) Tuition Reimbursement Paid Holidays (10) Sign on Bonus $1,000.00 PRIMARY FUNCTIONS Sets up and operates multi-axes computer numerical control (CNC) milling or lathe machine to mill surfaces of metallic and nonmetallic work pieces. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reads process sheets, blueprints, and process drawings to determine machining to be done, dimensional specifications, set up, and operating requirements. May be responsible for set-ups and troubleshooting machining problems Responsible for capturing document changes in machining and inspection Responsible for maintaining production by reassigning team members as necessary. Assists in pre-production meetings. May set up CNC multi-axis operations for Mill or Lathes. Enters commands into control panel to retrieve preprogrammed machine data from mainframe computer or disk. Inserts precision indicator in machine spindle, and depresses switches to jog spindle into contact with workpiece, synchronizes tape and tool, and records setup point. Retracts spindle and loads and secures first preset tool and holder. Starts machine and observes cutting operation. Compares numerical data display with specifications on operations sheet. Debugs and proves out programs. Calculates proper feeds and speeds. Adjusts tool lengths and fixture offsets. Assembles and presets tooling for next operation during automated cycle to reduce machine downtime. Replaces milling tools with drilling and boring tools at specified change points to reduce or eliminate subsequent machining of workpiece on another machine. Monitors tooling usage for maximum cost effectiveness. Operates machine on preliminary dry run before machining first part to detect errors in computer program. Completes First Article Inspection. Mounts bar stock in bar feeder. Selects and installs preset tooling in tool posts, turrets or indexing heads, and automatic tool change magazine, in sequence specified on process sheet. Depresses buttons, toggles, or sets tape and starts machining operation. Observes numerical displays on control panel and compares with data on process sheet to verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates, and speeds of machining cuts. Inspects first run piece and checks balance of parts for conformance and specifications as defined on the inspection procedure. Studies job packet and organizes materials for next run during automatic controlled cycles to shorten changeover time. Follows GMP work instruction. Sets tools before positioning them in machine. Machines nonmetallic materials. Responsible for the accuracy and quality of the part. Authorized to stop processes to ensure quality. Successfully sets up and runs repeat jobs in the most efficient manner. Accurately modifies or documents jobs. Instructs operators or other workers in machine setup/operation and additional supplemental equipment or processes such as glass bead, mass finish, de-burring and inspection. Authorized to direct machine operators in the operation of the equipment and sequence of the work. Works overtime as required. Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three months to six months related experience and/or training. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, routers and inspections procedures Ability to read and interpret blueprints Ability to understand general G-code programming is preferred Ability to write routine reports and job documentation. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry or ability to use a trig book. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations preferred. Ability to interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerance symbols. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrates mechanical aptitude Operates basic measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, surface plate checks and optical comparators.
