Description:
Entry-level position to perform answering the phone, welcoming all guests, keeping the showroom presentable and providing support to our managers and employees. Knowledge and understanding general lumber mill responsibilities including stacking lumber, driving a forklift, moving inventory, and verifying inventory counts. Principle/Main Responsibilities and Tasks: Answer and direct phone calls Maintain an organized filing system Uphold office policies and procedures Provide general help to visitors Prior experience in a mill and/or wood production work environment Operate machine or basic equipment Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures & regulations Perform basic maintenance to equipment (hydraulic fluid, etc.) Make sure all electrical panels are shut off before working on equipment Other duties as assigned Minimal Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Knowledge of office management systems and procedures Working knowledge of office equipment, such as printers and fax machines Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word & Outlook) Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work Attention to detail and problem-solving skills Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills Reliable and prompt with attendance and deadlines Prior experience in a mill and/or wood production work environment preferred May include climbing, pushing, kneeling and lifting heavy items Must be able to lift dimensional lumber to 50 lbs.
