Lower Elementary Classroom Teacher - Grade 2 Employment Status : Full Time, Exempt Reports to: Lower Elementary K-3 Principal Start Date: August 7, 2023-June 7, 2024 Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:50 a.m. to 3:50 p.m.; Following the school calendar. Additional time as needed for after-school meetings, conferences, and professional development. Job Summary: Responsible for all instruction in the Grade 2 classroom including care and nurture of all enrolled students. Job Responsibilities: Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of lower elementary students Plan engaging/creative appropriate instruction and extend concepts introduced in the First Grade classroom Conduct ongoing formal and informal assessments of student achievement Establish and maintain open communication with parents and students through a variety of means, including face-to-face conversations, email, phone calls and conferences Maintain accurate, complete, and current records of student progress, achievement, and behavior Work collaboratively with others, including, but not limited to, the Lower Elementary faculty and staff team Must have the ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis Qualifications: 4-year degree in education with a focus in Elementary Education Licensed teacher with PK-3 certification for the state of Ohio Able to communicate effectively, possessing developed verbal and written interpersonal skills Able to assess the developmental needs of the young child Able to work cooperatively and collaboratively, developing positive relationships with the EBL staff, administrators, parents, and students Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology Must be a committed Christian who is comfortable in a multi-denominational Christian community Able to integrate Christian principles into the child's learning experiences and nurture their faith CHCA is an equal opportunity employer. MENTAL FUNCTIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to compare, analyze, communicate, copy, coordinate, instruct, compute, synthesize, evaluate, use interpersonal skills, compile and negotiate.
