Midwest Motor Express is expanding and opening a new location in Janesville, WI. We are looking to immediately hire a terminal manager. Responsibilities & Objectives: Plans, directs, and controls the freight operations of the terminal in line with company objectives for profit and services. Responsible to the directives of all management functions at local terminal, coordinates the work of terminal activities by assigning responsibilities and supervising terminal personnel in such areas as: pickup and delivery operations, dock operations, night operations, inbound and outbound road operations, terminal office and equipment maintenance. Responsible for conducting the labor relations program at the local terminal level. Initiates, compiles and disseminates information and statistics relative to the operational problems and costs at the terminal. Performs all supervisory functions, such as performance reviews, hiring, separations, discipline, and training. Formulates policies, programs, and procedures for Midwest's transportation system including schedules, routes, assignment of drivers and vehicles and other terminal operations. Submits recommendations for development of, and compliance with transportation policies, procedures, and progress set forth by government regulations. May plan, direct, or delegate vehicle scheduling, allocation, dispatching, licensing, and communication to effect economical pooling of vehicle facilities. Directs compilation and issuance of timetables to all personnel. Conduct field surveys to evaluate operations and recommends changes for possible consolidation. Reviews and analyzes reports, such as revenue and performance records to determine traffic trends and secure information to recommend changes. Submits recommendations for operations and maintenance of communications systems, reviews procedures, provides guidance to resolve technical and vehicle repair problems, analyzes costs and recommends cost control measures. Selects and recommends personnel for various positions and trains assigned personnel to become knowledgeable and understand the company system of operation, according to the position applied for.
