The Role Kitsch is seeking a Logistics Data Scientist who will play a pivotal role in optimizing our logistics operations to drive efficiency and customer satisfaction across our distribution channels. This role requires a strong analytical mind, expertise in data science, and experience in logistics management. Job Responsibilities and Key Result Areas: Order and Returns Management Manage and optimize the process of optimizing picking batches for direct-to-consumer orders, analyzing order batching and sequencing to enhance operational efficiency. Oversee statistics on returns, analyze costs, and develop strategies to minimize losses while enhancing customer satisfaction. Shipping and Cost Analysis Address issues with missing orders in ShipStation and implement preventive measures. Regularly review and analyze freight costs to identify and implement cost-saving strategies. Advanced Analytics and Performance Metrics Use predictive modeling and machine learning to optimize inventory and forecasting. Establish and track KPIs to gauge and improve logistics performance. Sustainability and Customer Experience Develop strategies to reduce the environmental impact of shipping and returns. Leverage customer feedback to improve the shipping and returns processes. Inventory and Risk Management Collaborate with supply chain to manage and predict inventory needs. Identify risks in the logistics process and develop mitigation strategies. Business Collaboration Partner with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs, develop, and deliver KPIs and scorecards. About You Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Operations Research, or related field. Proven experience in logistics and data analysis. Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, and other analytics tools. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Experience manipulating raw data to meet business requests. Working knowledge of warehouse management systems, inventory control best practices, and ShipStation; Shopify experience preferred. Ability to work independently and within a team on multiple projects, receiving instructions from several people and meeting project deadlines.
