AbelCine is a full-service equipment and technology provider to the broadcast, production, and new media industries. Our Production Services division currently has an employed consultant opportunity for an experienced Live Video Engineer. The role of Live Video Engineer will be responsible for the execution and operation of all live video components within our client's Event Center Control Room, with a focus on high-level technical excellence, and responsiveness to production needs while maintaining and pushing creative boundaries. The ideal candidate for this role is highly detail-oriented, organized, and capable of coordinating multiple technical tasks both independently and as part of a team. This position encompasses the following responsibilities: LED Wall Control Includes designing on-screen layouts, ingesting, and scheduling content across multiple displays, and triggering cues during live events. Includes working with a design team to ensure proper display as well aiding in the effective use of the displays. Analog Way, Sony, Planar experience a plus Live Video Engineer Production switcher operation, robotics camera control, graphics design and operation, playback operation Knowledge of recording formats, live streaming platforms (primarily Zoom) also helpful. Ross ecosystem (Carbonite, Xpression, Tria, Ultrix) experience a plus AV Engineer Strong understanding of signal flows, video matrix routing, and design codecs. Basic to moderate knowledge of networking, audio, and lighting Evertz experience is necessary. Requirements for a successful candidate: Bachelor of Science degree Broadcast, Production preferred or related field minimum 5 years experience in Event Technology/High School Diploma or equivalent. Vocational qualification in a media engineering technology field or strong evidence of suitability in work learning, development, and deployment of skillsets. Demonstrated knowledge of technology, equipment, facilities, and production for major commercial and production facilities. Ability to work under tight deadlines and make quick decisions. Highly flexible communication skills, and ability to rapidly translate between the technical and non-technical sides of a situation in a way that ensures understanding and customer satisfaction. Strong time management and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Interpersonal skills necessary to interact, and work productively and collaboratively with other departments within Blackstone. Exceptional verbal and written communication, organizational, and time management skills. A responsive nature, with the ability to anticipate needs in a fast-paced and time-sensitive environment. A team-player mentality, ready to assist wherever needed. Quick learning capabilities and the ability to work closely with colleagues over extended periods. Adaptability and ability to assess situations quickly, and shift focus in a customer-centric, high-service-level, and ever-evolving environment. A positive attitude, a broad perspective, outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, and a strong work ethic are essential for this role. Required System Experience: Analog Way: Picturall & Aquilon, RCP400 Ross Video: Ultrix, Carbonite, Xpression, Tria Evertz: Magnum, Vue, Control Software LED Wall Controls: Sony & Planar Telemetrics / Robotics Camera Control PowerPoint / Perfect Cue QLab Broadcast Endpoints / Connectivity Epiphan Pearls KVM Workflow Teleprompting Software: Cue-It & Telescroll Bitfocus Companion Preferred System Experience: Analog Way, Sony, Planar Knowledge of recording formats, live streaming platforms (primarily Zoom) Ross ecosystem (Carbonite, Xpression, Tria, Ultrix) experience a plus This opportunity is temp to permanent barring the initial temp phase performance is satisfactory and meets expectations. The anticipated temp period would span approximately 6 months. This role will perform services exclusively on the client's worksite.
