Practice Area: Litigation - General (consumer), Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 4 Years, A law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with the following responsibilities, requirements, education, certifications, and skills:Job Overview:The Litigation Associate Attorney will be responsible for providing effective legal services to clients and supervising attorneys, conducting thorough legal research and analysis, drafting pleadings and case documents, attending hearings in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, and managing cases from commencement to resolution.Duties:Provide effective and reliable legal services to clients and supervising attorneysConduct thorough factual and legal research and analysis in pleadings, memoranda, and other written documentsDraft pleadings and other case documentsAttend hearings throughout Massachusetts and Rhode IslandManage matters from commencement to final resolutionCommunicate competently and professionally with clients and supervising attorneysRequirements:4-6 years of prior associate-level experience in general litigationStrong writing and oral communication skillsAbility to learn new substantive legal topics as neededKnowledge of federal and state court practice, experience preparing answers, motions, and other routine filingsExperience handling hearings and depositionsSignificant case management experienceEducation:Juris DoctorCertifications:Must be and remain licensed to practice law and in good standing in Rhode IslandMust also be (or willing to become) and remain licensed to practice law and in good standing in MassachusettsSkills:Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingAbility to work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlinesStrong organization and matter management skillsAbility to work professionally and effectively with clients, partners, associates, and support staffAbility to work effectively with others as part of a teamFamiliarity with and ability to prepare basic and complex litigation documentsFamiliarity with federal and state court procedural rules and practicesClear and effective drafting skillsStrong negotiating skillsJob Location:Providence, RI Over a century old, this firm is a strong regional presence.
