Job ID 14562Department Everett Line (10000080) Union Classification Union IBEWType Full Time : Hourly of Openings 1Job Location Operation Center : Crew (OC) Closing Date Salary/Wage 73.61per hour Job Definition Works as a member of a crew to install, repair, maintain and remove electrical line equipment of the Districts transmission and distribution systems, energized or de:energized, located both underground and overhead in accordance with safety and construction standards and regulations. This position reports to and is under the direction of a Line Foreman, Construction Superintendent or Manager, Distribution Services. Distinguishing Characteristics The Lineman classification is distinguished from the Apprentice Lineman classification by the increased technical knowledge and skill required to perform the work. The Lineman has successfully completed a certified Apprentice Lineman program or equivalent. Essential Job Functions :Installs and maintains the Districts transmission and distribution systems both underground and overhead.:Loads, unloads, frames, erects and removes poles.:Installs, dismantles, inspects and tests wire and equipment (cutouts, switches, transformers, etc.) utilized in the installation and maintenance of transmission and distribution systems both underground and overhead.:Operates necessary equipment and tools used in the installation and maintenance of transmission and distribution systems (manlift, digger/derrick, chain saw, air compressor, backhoe, etc).:Reads and interprets work sketches and plans.:Follows applicable safety rules contained in the Districts Accident Prevention Manual and WAC 296:24, 296:45, 296:54, 296:62, and :Completes time slips and necessary reports affecting job assignments. Keeps diary of daily activities for future reference regarding damage claims, etc. Specialized Job Functions N/A Other Job Functions :Trims trees as necessary to eliminate the possibility of contact with energized lines.:Ensures proper use and care of equipment assigned.:Completes work in a safe and efficient manner.:Protects against damage to public and private property during line construction and maintenance, whenever possible.:Upgrades to Line Foreman or Outside Service Lineman.:Performs other associated duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Knowledge of:- Construction and maintenance practices/methods related to line work.- Tools, materials and equipment of the trade.- Current overhead and underground practices.- CPR and First Aid methods, Pole Top and Vault Rescue.- WAC Electrical Safety Rules: WAC 296:24, 296:45, 296:54, 296:62 and - Mathematics to make basic calculations.Ability to:- Use hand and power tools and equipment used in electrical facility installation and repair.- Climb poles using conventional climbing gear.- Interact with customers, government officials, and District employees.- Identify, analyze and resolve problems.- Read and understand work sketches and blueprints.- Apply First Aid and CPR methods as needed.- Learn and apply the District's Safety Rules, policies, procedures and directives.- Apply WAC Electrical Safety Rules: WAC 296:24, 296:45, 296:54, 296:62, and - Learn and apply Collective Bargaining Agreement.- Learn and apply District Construction and Maintenance Standard Practices and Electrical Service Requirements.- Learn to use various forms, reports, time slips and how to complete them. Experience/Education:Completion of certified Apprentice Lineman Program or a combination of education and/or training and/or experience that provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the classification.:High School diploma or equivalent. License/Certification - Journeyman Linemans card or ability to obtain IBEW Journeyman Linemans card within 30 days of hire.- Successful compl
