Northwood Club is a premier country club established in 1946 and located in Dallas, Texas, best known for hosting the 1952 U.S. Open. We have one of the best PGA Championship Golf Courses the club was voted Best Overall Private Club in 2022 in Avid Golfer Magazine. The club also has a Distinguished Clubs of the World Emerald Designation for outstanding member service. Our staff consists of a wide range of professionals who are well recognized in areas of Tennis, Golf and Culinary. We are currently looking for Lifeguards for the Summer, our pool will be open starting May 26th - September 4th. General Purpose: Supervises the safety and cleanliness of the club swimming pool and facilities. Provides all services of lifeguard including participation in aquatic activities planned by the Lifeguard Supervisor. Essential Duties: Create a welcoming environment for members and guests at all times. Monitor check-in desk to insure all members and guest sign in Observe all members and guests when in the water to ensure safety Maintains equipment inventory and notifies manager when orders equipment/supplies are needed for various programs. Properly cares for aquatic equipment. Keeps storage area neat, clean, and all in safe working order. Enforces club rules of safety and conduct. Assist in maintaining a fully stocked First Aid Kit. Maintains flexibility to take on new and different task as directed by the Department Manager. Observes and participates in safety at all times. Attends staff meetings and training. Education / Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); with training and certification; equivalent combination of education and experience preferred but not required. Age 16 and up. Language Skills: English is required to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; to write simple correspondence; to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, members, and other associates of the organization. Mathematical Skills: May be required: to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Reasoning Ability: May be required: to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Physical Demands: Frequently stands and walks; uses hands to feel or handle; reaches with arms and hands; stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches; talks or hears. Occasionally sits; climbs or balances. Frequently lifts up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds. Vision Requirements: Regularly uses close, distance, color, and peripheral vision as well as depth perception. Ability to adjust focus. Environment/ Noise: Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions temperatures can be as high as 120 degrees. Noise level is moderate to high. Certificates/Licenses: CPR, AED, Lifeguard, and First Aid Certification. Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability Preferences: Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers, members, or co-workers. Also the manuals for equipment that's used are in English.) Must be able to properly use all equipment and safety devises for the pool. Normal Work Hours: Varied to include nights, weekends, and holidays. This is a seasonal position. Applicants under age of 16 are subject to State Law and Regulations per Texas Department of Labor.
