About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Legal EEO Associate Counsel join the Employment Division of the Wells Fargo Legal Department. In this role, you will: Analyze and respond to legal claims pending with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission ("EEOC") and related state agencies by current and former employeesSubmit the company's response to employment discrimination claims filed before an agency or legal letters submitted by the employee's attorneyAttend mediations, settlement conferences and agency investigations, including drafting settlement documentsParticipate in or provide support for low complexity initiativesProvide legal consult in negotiations and settlementsServe as a subject matter expert in risk managementResearch and analyze matters pertaining to various aspects of the company's operationsDevelop specialization within law while developing broader and deeper expertiseReview issues, policies or procedures for which answers can be quickly obtained related to low-to-medium risk deliverablesManage complex claims as well as complex exposure, identification, and analysis, risk mitigation, financing, and claims programs world-wideServe as a representative of the Company in complex claims including mediation, arbitration, and other settlement conferences with outside claimants, attorneys, mediators, and insurersReceive direction from supervisor and exercise independent judgment while developing understanding of policies, procedures, specialization, and compliance requirementsEvaluate the impact of major changes in the law, assess the impact, and make appropriate recommendations to managementProvide legal advice on varying company operational topics (tax, personnel, mergers and acquisitions, policy, regulations, etc.)Collaborate and consult with managers, functional colleagues, and stakeholdersPartner with business line and other corporate group partners to develop and implement risk management programsSupport and consult with more experienced counsel on complex matters and outside counsel on complex mattersMonitor and coordinate with outside counsel Required Qualifications: 6+ months of Law experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, educationActive State Bar membership or the equivalent in a country outside the United States Desired Qualifications: Experience investigating merits of administratively filed employment claims and evaluating legal risk of those claimsExperience writing persuasive legal responses to the EEOC and related state agencies, including responding to letters submitted by the employee's attorneyExperience conducting research, analyzing and responding to discrimination casesKnowledge of employment law and anti-discrimination lawExperience participating in agency onsite investigations, legal negotiations, mediations, and settlement conferencesStrong attention to detail and accuracyExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to effectively organize and prioritize work while handling multiple mattersEffective in building partnerships, functioning well with project teams, and working for the success of the team Job Expectations: Position will require onsite presence from any of the required locations listed below This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
