LEAD YOUTH PROGRAM COUNSELOR ASTORIA, OREGON SUMMARY The Astoria Parks & Recreation Department is looking for friendly and professional individuals to work in our Out of School Program providing care and activities for children aged five to 12 for a safe and positive educational and recreational experience. SCHEDULE The Out of School Program operates during the school year after normal school hours, approximately 2pm to 6pm, Monday - Friday, and from 7:30am-5:30pm on non-school days. Additionally, candidates in this position will have the opportunity to transition into assisting with the Summer Camp Program, which operates June-August, between the hours of 7:30am and 6pm, Monday-Friday. KEY QUALITIES Patience Compassion Enthusiastic and positive attitude Excellent communications skills to communicate with children, parents and co-workers Energy to move around, monitor and interact with children.
