Lead Quality Control Technician

General Summary: Perform inspections and tests on incoming material, in process and finished product to ensure that quality standards and process controls are being met throughout the manufacturing process. Generate the appropriate documentation, records, and reports. Support quality, engineering, and manufacturing as needed. Essential Duties and responsibilities: Perform incoming, in-process, first article, and final inspections on products and instruments for Drucker Diagnostics Enter data from inspections into Epicor or other record keeping programs Provide guidance and training to less senior quality technicians Review and verification of certification documentation, inspection, and testing of parts for compliance to drawings and/or specifications, detailed documentation of results, and proper maintenance of records Generate various quality and process performance reports Generate NCMR reports and corrective actions as needed Maintain IQA inspection database with required records Generate/maintain database for in process and final inspection information Continuous improvement of inspection methods, data analysis, and record retention Disposition of non-conforming material through the MRB process Work with minimal supervision to assess compliance to the product requirements, utilizing efficient and effective time management skills. Providing innovative cost-effective solutions. Working productively and seamlessly as a member of a skilled team of quality professionals Assist with validation protocols Maintain and improve upon quality procedures Assist in other areas when necessary Provide input for annual performance reviews and for the hiring process when applicable Provides periodic reports for key performance indicators Perform internal audit activities Other relevant duties as requested by Quality management Supervisory Responsibilities: Not applicable Qualifications: Positive attitude with a desire to succeed Strong bias for action and problem-solving skills Effective project management skills Strong mathematical skills Good understanding of product compliance Ability to work with ambiguities a must Blueprint reading and understanding of GD&T of must Ability to use and train on the use of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauging) Education and /or experience: High School Diploma or GED Required, AA or AS preferred 5 years of progressive, professional Quality Control experience OR An equivalent combination of education and experience Certified Quality Inspector a plus Alternate education and experienced considered based on individual candidate Language skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills required to seamlessly work across groups and at all levels Computer skills: Strong computer skills Strong knowledge of Micro Soft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word Experience with Epicor or similar ERP a plus Experience with automated test and inspection systems a plus Physical demands: Must be highly safety conscious. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to be active and mobile for up to 8 hours Work Environment: Work performed in a manufacturing environment. May work at different workstations as quality needs require, or shifts from one station to another, during the inspection process. Fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities.
