The group this business are a part of service some of the globes largest and most critical industries, and the company itself has existed for well over a century. The Lead Engineer will be reporting directly to the Engineering Manager and will support the product development strategy of the company's growth and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities as Lead Engineer: - Produce accurate and innovative designs for the company's niche products - Be the technical go-to for customers through the life cycle of their projects - Understand, interpret and apply relevant industry standards to designs for company clients - Produce various technical documentation including design reports, stress calculations, FEA, CFD, etc. - Be pivotal in new product design and R&D concept design work - Provide technical support and training for sales engineers and customers Experience as Lead Engineer: - Qualified to degree level within Mechanical Engineering or equivalent - Proven experience of successful delivery within a similar position - Strong knowledge of modern manufacturing methods and processes - In depth knowledge of engineering mathematics, fluid power, thermodynamics and raw materials - Sound understanding of risk mitigation, design validation and qualification methodology - Proficient in 2D and 3D design, FEA, CFD, Auto CAD, Inventor, Ansys and MS Office - Driven and motivated individual with a proactive approach Benefits for Lead Engineer: - 25 days holiday - Up to 6 matched pension contributions - 5 x Death in Service - Share save Scheme - Health Cash Plan - Cycle to Work Scheme.
