Come join us - become a MAVERICK!Role: Lead Engineer - Chicago ILHampton Inn & Suites Illinois Medical District UIC is a newly established hotel strategically located in the heart of the bustling Medical District. Our hotel is committed to providing exceptional hospitality services tailored to meet the unique needs of medical professionals, patients, and their families. We aim to create a comfortable and welcoming environment that promotes rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation.We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineer to join our team. The Lead Engineer will play a pivotal role in overseeing the engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel, ensuring the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and guest satisfaction are consistently met. The ideal candidate will have prior pre-opening experience in the hospitality industry, with a strong background in managing maintenance teams and implementing best practices.What You'll Do:•Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance programs and procedures to ensure the smooth operation of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.•Lead and supervise the engineering team, including hiring, training, and performance management.•Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities, equipment, and systems to identify and address any maintenance issues or safety concerns.•Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and maintenance services.•Manage the departmental budget, including expenses for labor, supplies, and equipment.•Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment, and oversee procurement as needed.•Implement energy conservation and sustainability initiatives to minimize environmental impact and reduce operating costs.•Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and building codes and regulations.•Respond promptly to guest requests, complaints, and emergencies related to engineering and maintenance issues.•Assist with pre-opening activities, including setting up maintenance systems, conducting equipment testing, and ensuring readiness for hotel operations.Who You Are:•Bachelor's degree in engineering, Facilities Management, or related field preferred.•Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role within the engineering or facilities management field, preferably in the hospitality industry with pre-opening experience.•Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.•Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.•Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources effectively, and meet deadlines.•Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software.•Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.•Certification in engineering or facilities management is a plus.•A supportive and inclusive work environment.How to Apply: If you meet the qualifications and are excited about the opportunity to join our team as the Lead Engineer, please submit your resume and cover letter to XXXX@maverickmgt.com.
