Practice Area: Litigation - Real Estate - Defense, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 2 Years, A law firm located in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking a dedicated Landlord Tenant Attorney with strong writing skills and at least 2 years of post-law school experience. The candidate will be responsible for attending landlord-tenant court hearings throughout the State of Michigan each week, preparing legal pleadings, conducting legal research, and negotiating settlements with opposing counsel. While landlord-tenant experience is preferred, other real estate litigation experience will be considered. Duties:Attend landlord-tenant court hearings throughout the State of Michigan on a weekly basis.Prepare and file legal pleadings, including complaints, answers, motions, and other court documents.Conduct legal research on landlord-tenant laws, regulations, and case precedents to support case strategies.Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and parties involved in landlord-tenant disputes.Communicate effectively with clients to provide legal advice, updates on case progress, and guidance on legal matters.Represent clients in landlord-tenant disputes, including eviction proceedings, lease disputes, and property damage claims.Assist in drafting and reviewing lease agreements, rental contracts, and other real estate documents.Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure efficient case management and client satisfaction. Requirements:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to the State Bar of Michigan and in good standing.Minimum of 2 years of post-law school experience, preferably in landlord-tenant law or real estate litigation.Strong writing skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise, and persuasive legal documents.Experience attending court hearings and representing clients in litigation matters.Knowledge of landlord-tenant laws, regulations, and procedures in the State of Michigan.Excellent communication and negotiation skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
