Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, Water Treatment, the Laboratory Coordinator, Water Treatment is responsible for the safe and efficient execution of water treatment laboratory functions, including site sampling and QAQC implementation. To be successful, we are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, who has strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making abilities. Someone who is organized, detail and lab oriented, and has strong troubleshooting abilities. Join us in the breathtaking Elk Valley of British Columbia. Working a compressed work week with alternating Fridays off, come experience what work life balance is all about! Responsibilities: Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures Provide supervision, technical mentorship, and training to lab technicians, lab assistants, water samplers, and technicians performing lab duties. Manage internal and external laboratory procedures and samples and advise personnel on process adjustments as needed. Ensure that the laboratory quality management system is followed across all sites, including procedures, standards and QAQC. Keep detailed records of laboratory spending and prepare monthly budget updates and forecasts. Accountable for proficiency testing performed by all water operations staff across all facilities, with follow-up actions as required. Lead the laboratory data management across all sites, including the review of internal and external lab data, flagging data that needs validation.
