We are actively hiring a PBMC Lab Technician at the Flourish Research site in Chicago! The PBMC Technician plays a critical role in the clinical research site operations. The technician specializes in sterile processing of bodily samples, cell isolation, and venipuncture, following strict SOPs and protocols. They manage specimen logistics and maintain lab efficiency, overseeing equipment, supplies, and test result routing. Shift: Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5:30 PM - must be willing to accommodate patients and potential site needs for occasional morning, evening, or even weekend work - all overtime eligible! Compensation: Hourly Rate based on experience + comprehensive benefits, PTO, and 401k match*paid overtime for weekend work, evening work, or early morning work as needed RESPONSIBILITIES Read, understand and is able to follow instruction manuals and sponsor protocols regarding laboratory specimens to be obtained following appropriate timelines per protocols; Is able to obtain, process and ship laboratory specimens using good laboratory technique and following OSHA and IATA regulations; Obtain and maintain IATA certification at all times; Maintain confidentiality of patient and protocol issues as appropriate and as bound by Confidentiality Agreements with CTT, between CTT and sponsors, between CTT and other entities and in compliance with all HIPAA regulations; Promptly report any adverse events or laboratory incidents to management that occur with patients when obtaining or processing lab specimens; Ensure availability of appropriate amounts of laboratory supplies at all times; Use professionalism in all communications with patients, sponsors, physicians, clinic staff, CTT employees, etc. whether communications occur in person, via telephone or via electronic modes; Attend required training courses/conferences in order to stay abreast of current and changing federal regulations and CTT policies; Pursue educational opportunities to increase knowledge of the research process, good laboratory practices, OSHA and IATA regulations; Trained in universal precautions for blood borne pathogens; Perform all duties in a safe and prudent manner; Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Education: Associate's degree in a Biological field required, Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience: Minimum of 1-3+ years of experience within the field of clinical or biological research. Phlebotomy experience required Sample collection/handling experience required Minimum of 1-3+ years’ experience within a laboratory environment.
