Job entails performing medical laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses for the provision of data for treatment, diagnosis, and prevention of diseases. Laboratory Assistant conducts chemical exams of body fluids to find out the presence of abnormal and normal components. Work also consists of clerical duties, answering telephones, and assisting in-patients and out-patients and other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.Must be certified by Louisiana Board of Medical Examiners as a lab Assistant.
