If you have a passion for making a difference, this could be your opportunity to join our transformative team.Celebrating a Century: https://100.scripps.edu/ POSITION TITLE: Lab Assistant I RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: General lab support, encompassing basic biochemical analyses, plasmid, tissue, or gel preparation, and spectrometry. Glassware washing, autoclaving, and preparation of media, solutions, and buffers. Conducting techniques such as quantitative PCR genotyping, TMT mass spectrometry, metabolomics, western blotting, DNA cloning, immunostaining, confocal microscopy, high-throughput screens, and bioinformatic data analysis. Replenishing supplies and performing other related duties, tasks, and responsibilities as required or assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skill and abilities have been attained and a minimum of 1+ years of related experience. or Associate degree, (scientific discipline) and (0-1 year), previous related experience required. Basic biologic techniques, mammalian cell culture or mouse experience preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Details of established essential functions for this position will be addressed/discussed during the interview process. COMPENSATION: The expected hiring range for this position is $16.85 to $19 per hour, commensurate with experience.
