Description: Midwest Pool Management is looking to hire a trustworthy and reliable Pool Service Manager to head our service department and maintain our client's pools in and around the KC area and other communities. This position is responsible for providing high-quality, professional pool maintenance including regular maintenance and cleaning of municipal, commercial, and private swimming pools. Duties will include, but are not limited to, driving to pool locations, testing chemicals, adding chemicals as needed, as well as backwashing and troubleshooting and providing solutions any other water or mechanical issues.To ensure success as a Pool Service Manager, you should have excellent knowledge of swimming pool equipment and maintenance, be able to work with hazardous chemicals, and interact with clients in a friendly and professional manner. Qualifications: High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or one to three years related experience and/or training Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Ability to write routine reports, correspondence and communicate effectively in a group setting Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds (with assistance or extra equipment if necessary) Special vision abilities required by this job include color vision While performing the duties of this job, is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions Working across temperature zones that may include cold and/or hot environments for extended periods Position requires frequent movement including walking, standing, bending/stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, climbing and other active movement Valid Driver's license with clean driving record required. Requirements: 18 years old or older Previous pool experience strongly preferred but not required Knowledge of proper pool cleaning and maintenance methods Knowledge of swimming pool chemicals Ability to lift heavy equipment of 50 lbs or more Ability to work in harsh weather conditions Maintain a professional appearance RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION Ability to follow GPS maps A valid driver's license with a clean driving records Available during the summer, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays Responsibilities: Driving your own vehicle to the different pool locations. Maintaining equipment and chemical stock at pool. Testing swimming pool water. Adding acid, chlorine, and other chemicals to correct any chemical out of balance. Cleaning swimming pool using authorized equipment. Backwashing all pool filters. Servicing and fixing faulty pool equipment. Completing paperwork and reporting service requirements to management. Maintains and operates pools, hot tubs, and pool support areas according to company standards and in compliance with local authority having jurisdiction statutes, codes, and applicable laws Maintain a functional and organized pump room environment: Filters are backwashed, pump filter baskets are clear, chlorine pumps are functional, lines are clean, chemical controllers are calibrated and functional Accurately records and reports water chemistry Provides exceptionally clear and well-balanced water in all bodies of water Tests water chemistry in pools and hot tubs, using test kit, adjusting chemicals where necessary, maintains all chemicals within authority having jurisdiction guidelines Records water chemistry readings daily Cleans pool filters according to prescribed procedures Repairs and replaces all pumps, pump motors, chemical feed controls, pool plumbing, ladders/steps, underwater lighting, and main grates Delivers chemicals and other supplies to pools Leaves work area in clean and safe condition Some duties will be performed while wearing personal protective equipment Other duties as assigned Knowledge of: Methods, equipment and materials used in daily aquatic operations. Methods used for positive customer service and training. Pertinent federal, state and local laws, codes and safety regulations regarding aquatic operations and activities. Principles of administrative computer operation, preventive maintenance, supervision training and performance evaluation. Occupational hazards and safety precautions necessary in the work and training at aquatic facilities. Ability to: Operate and direct the use of aquatic equipment by the public and department including pumps, filters, chlorine, slides, diving boards, safety equipment, etc. Select, supervise, train and evaluate staff. Interpret and explain policies and procedures. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing with all staff, public and upper management. Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for: Making observations Reading and writing Inspecting aquatic facilities and grounds Operating assigned vehicles and equipment Communicating with others Maintain mental capacity which permits: Making sound decisions and using good judgment Demonstrating intellectual capabilities Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include the following: Partial to full-submersion in shallow to deep water Working in confined spaces Exposure to high temperatures and humidity Standing or walking for extended periods of time Pushing, pulling, lifting or moving light to heavy objects Operating assigned vehicles and equipment Effectively handle a work environment and conditions which involve: Field and office work Working closely with others Irregular working hours Exposure to and handling of toxic/hazardous chemicals Working alone Effectively deal with personal danger which may include exposure to: Hazardous chemicals, materials, work environments Hazards associated with working in and near water Dangers associated with water rescue, providing CPR and First Aid Blood Borne Pathogens and other potentially infectious materials Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work including the general public. Supervision Received and Excised: Receives general supervision from the Director of Operations or Executive Division Manager. Exercises direct supervision over 0 full-time Aquatic division staff, and direct supervision of up to 20 summer part-time/seasonal staff. License or Certifications: Possession of or ability to obtain within six months of hire: C.P.O. (Certified Pool Operator) or A.F.O. (Aquatic Facility Operator) Valid state-issued driver's license. Working Conditions: Environmental Conditions: Indoor and outdoor aquatic facilities environment; working closely with others, high levels of public contact, operating a motor vehicle, exposure to various pool chemicals, holiday, evening and weekend work required. Physical Conditions: Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may require maintaining physical condition necessary for standing, walking, climbing steps and ladders, and stooping for prolonged periods of time; light to heavy lifting; use of arms and legs; ability to grip; acute or correctable hearing and vision; ability to be partially to fully submerged in water.
