Join the Burlington Maintenance Team as a Journeyman Tool & Die Maker! Responsibilities Has knowledge of and understands the function and operation of tool and die room machines. Interprets and works from blueprints, specifications, sketches, charts, tables and as directed by supervision to layout, make templates, sketches, etc., and determine work process. Builds, repairs, remodels and maintains all types of tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, gauges, etc., and makes tool and die tryouts. Performs all types of fittings, assembly and inspection to required tolerances. Programs point to point numerically controlled machines. Programs continuous path numerically controlled machines in a promotional classification. Set-up and operate various machines to bore, cut, drill, form, grind, mill, shape, turn, etc.Plan methods, procedures, and process equipment to construct, alter and repair a wide variety of dies, precision gages, fixtures, jigs and tools.Work from tool designs, assembly and part drawings, and sample part sketches, engineering specifications, verbal and written instructions.Assemble, fit, and adjust numerous components, details, and mechanisms to obtain accurate alignment, clearance, relationship and operation.Try out and check completed dies, fixtures, gages, jigs, and tools under actual operating conditions in production departments.Machine replacement parts to original part specifications.Adapts to new methods, processes, material, and equipmentMust keep work area clean, organized, maintaining care of equipment assigned to you Ability to run a hoist and/or overhead craneLimit waste for consumables such as gloves, glasses, etc.Look to eliminate non-value-added activity in the areaProvide suggestions for continuous improvementUse of Fiix maintenance software. Employee is required to have regular attendance and timely adhere to the set work and break schedules Duties may include all or a portion of, but not limited to the above.
