Job description The Regulatory Operations Specialist role is responsible to support all aspects of the specific unit including servicing, problem resolution, quality, and risk management. Works with key stakeholders across the Bank supporting the WPB business to ensure activities of the unit are carried out in compliance with all regulations and operational guidelines. Responsible for maintaining exceptional customer service standards, and other duties as assigned. This position provides operational support in a variety of high priority functions within a Banking Operations environment. Responsible for a variety of functions including Account Maintenance (ex. Dormancy removal, OFAC handling for RBWM), Amend Customer Details (ex. Address Changes, Signature Capture), Account Closing (ex. CSEM, Customer initiated from Call Center), Customer Data Requests (ex. Requests for historical physical paper statement) and Third Party Requests (ex. Requests from Social Services for Verification of Deposit). Responsibilities also include Cash Operations functions (ex. Regulation E PIN-Based transaction settlement and affiliate oversight, commercial customer vault depository services research, vendor vault monitoring and reconciliation, branch inquiries and ordering, ATM reconciliation and cash vault processing and TSYS commercial card payments). Responsibilities may also include Image Research, Signature Verification and Abandoned Property functions. The Regulatory Operations Specialist is responsible for maintaining the operational integrity of these functions, while working in a fast-paced changing environment, meeting Performance Level and Service Level Agreements, ensuring compliance with all internal and external guidelines, adherence to applicable regulations including Know Your Customer (KYC) and Bank Secrecy Act. This includes the development, documentation, and on-going maintenance of departmental procedures, ensuring compliance with organizational requirements and quality control. This role provides internal and external customer / business unit support, and customer contact including investigations. This may require proficiency in dealing with internal customers including customer facing teams in Contact center, Wealth Centers and other operational teams and challenging / urgent situations. This role is responsible for recognizing risks, identifying opportunities for process improvement, and working with management to implement best practice strategies. There is a requirement for conducting research to resolve issues and implement sustainable solutions. This requires taking ownership of assigned tasks, exhibiting strong decision-making skills, and exercising sound judgment. Regulatory Operations Specialist will participate as a member of project teams when initiatives impact processes or systems, assisting in preparation of Initial Requests and Business Requirement Documents, and participating in User Acceptance Testing. Effectively collaborate with the team through communication, performance management, personal development plans, and reward/recognition practices. Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders in processes performed within the department. Apply compliance, operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies by addressing any issues. Recommend implementation of process improvements, while maintaining or increasing customer satisfaction and reducing risk Ensure compliance with established internal guidelines and external regulations affecting activities, and escalate all matters of risk that may surface For this role, HSBC targets a fixed pay range between $38,400 and $57,500. The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location. Skills required: Strong communications (verbal & written), organizational, analytical & transformation skills Bachelor's degree in business, accounting related field or equivalent.
