Job Description Job Title : IT Infrastructure Engineer Department : Information Systems Reports To : Brad Decker Job Summary : The IT Infrastructure Engineer 1 will join the Information Technologies team performing moderately complex activities related to storage and virtualization strategy, including security, designs, server and storage infrastructure implementation and continual monitoring and auditing of the IT infrastructure. This position includes all related hardware and control system security. This individual will support the configuration management and overall operational readiness of infrastructure systems, including environments with multiple operating systems and configurations, and provides troubleshooting and fault-finding services for infrastructure related problems. Job Responsibilities include : - Manage VMware ESXI and Vcenter implementation. - Manage Storage Area Network, backup system and DR site. - Create and maintain accurate documentation and technical drawings of the datacenter. - Install and configure servers, storage solutions, and other datacenter equipment. - Maintain optimal datacenter performance through proactive monitoring, analysis and configuration; troubleshooting datacenter problems; escalating issues with vendors if required. - Adherence to the IT change management process, and utilization of the appropriate mechanisms to maintain the management and configurations of the datacenter infrastructure. - Practice asset management, including maintenance of infrastructure component inventory and related documentation. - Update job knowledge by participation in educational opportunities, trainings and certifications. Requirements : High degree of ownership in all matters within the IT infrastructure. Ability to focus on details and follow through on moderately complex projects. Demonstrates a diligent and service minded attitude with strong attention to detail. Strong quantitative and qualitative reasoning skills, with a demonstrated ability to determine event root causes, performance shortfalls and identify required corrective actions. Analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under general supervision. Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a team, or autonomously while keeping the team informed. Education Bachelor of science in an IT related field or equivalent experience. VMware/Microsoft certification a plus. Experience 3 years of experience in VMware and system administration. Experience in Microsoft server administration. Experience in Microsoft Active Directory administration. Experience in WAN/LAN troubleshooting and maintenance. Experience in SAN/NAS deployment, configuration and maintenance. Physical Requirements Ability to sit for periods greater than 4 hours. Ability to lift 40 lbs. Job Posted by ApplicantPro
