The Opportunity: As the Investigator in Analytical Biochemistry, Vaccine Discovery Research, you will lead the innovative biophysical and biochemical assay development to support the design and optimization of the mRNA vaccines and adjuvanted protein vaccines. You will focus on leveraging analytical tools, such as MALS/DLS, DSC, Spectroscopy, and imaging to characterize mRNA, lipid nanoparticles (LNP) and protein complexes. You will report to the Head of Analytical Biochemistry and service as a senior member of Analytical Biochemistry group. The Role Develop, optimize, and execute biophysical and biochemical analytical methods to characterize mRNA, LNP, and protein complex for particle and conformation characterization, content quantification and in vitro potency evaluation.Biophysical characterization of higher-order structure using DLS, FFF-MALS, DSC etc.Analyze, track, trend data to monitor analytical assays and ensure consistency in assay performance.Support pre-clinical studies for sa-mRNA and adjuvanted protein vaccine quality control.Collaborate with vaccine project teams, mRNA platform team and product development groups to support structure-function studies, stability studies etc.Oversee troubleshooting and tech transfer of analytical methods to relevant department.Author test methods, technical reports, and study protocols. Maintain detailed documentation of experiments in ELN system.Present scientific results internally and externally and contribute to patent application and publication.Operate and maintain functional laboratory equipment and follow HSE regulations. Your skills and experience: PhD in Chemistry, Biophysics, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or related fields is required.1+ years' postdoctoral experience of biophysical analysis of large biological molecules, protein complex, mRNA or LNP in academia or pharma/biotech is required.Experience with the analytical techniques, DLS, MALS, DSC, spectroscopy, or imaging, is required.Experience of analytical method development is required.Hands-on experience of mammalian cell culture is desired.The ability to produce accurate and reproducible results while working on multiple tasks is required.The ability to work in teams with written/oral communication skills are required.Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401K, and PTO available from your first day of hire Our Benefits CSL Seqirus employees that work at least 30 hours per week are eligible for benefits effective day 1.
