Curtze Food Service in Erie, PA, is seeking to hire a first-shift full-time Inventory Specialist to perform the daily processing and record-keeping of all inventories. This position is primarily responsible for utilizing best practices, systems, and established processes to coordinate, manage, and support activities related to inventory, spoilage, liquidation, and overall slot management in our dry grocery, cooler, and frozen warehouse. The Inventory Specialist will process reports and cycle counts daily. This position requires consistent and efficient communication with the purchasing team and warehouse management. The ideal candidate will be organized, personable, computer proficient, able to work independently, prompt, and reliable. Shift: Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Responsibilities: Handles all matters related to inventory control, checking the quality of designated products, and taking daily inventory of products. Supports internal and external analytics, strategy recommendations, and communications related to inventory, including: Stocking lists, vendor returns, item availability, inventory levels, and samples Shelf life and slot management Discontinued items, slow-moving items, and liquidation practices Out-of-stocks, late purchase orders, in-stock dates, product returns, controlled usage items, and drop-ship PO's Serves as an information source, provides item-level recommendations, and coordinates the appropriate activity of slot/inventory issues to the purchasing team, warehouse management, and other departments, as it relates to inventory, liquidation, and slot management. Ensures successful inventory assumption execution as needed. Any other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED 2 years of experience working in Inventory Control Preferred Qualifications: Food Service inventory experience is a plus *** This position requires bending, stooping, twisting, reaching above, reaching across, using repetitive motion, heavy lifting, and the ability to stand for a minimum of 8 hours daily. The Inventory Specialist will be exposed daily to adverse temperatures from cold 20-40° F, damp/wet, to freezing temperatures (below zero degrees F) *** ABOUT CURTZE FOODSERVICE Curtze is a full-line foodservice distributor.
