Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities Looking for a meaningful internship opportunity that will give you real-world experience and help you grow as a professional? Look no further than the Iridium Internship Program where you will be an integral part of the Iridium teams shaping the future of satellite communications! The Iridium Internship program is a 12-week program that runs from May 20, 2024 to August 9, 2024. As an Iridium Intern, you'll begin making an impact on real projects from day one! During the program, come prepared to grow, develop, and learn alongside a team and the leaders of our company. Our Interns are offered a unique opportunity to provide valuable support to Iridium on projects and work assignments as well as the chance to participate in exciting activities that will allow you to connect with senior leadership and fellow interns. What We're Looking For: Iridium is seeking a stand-out Systems Engineer Intern with a desire to learn about the Systems Engineering (SE) process. This will include gaining knowledge of the use of SE tools such as DOORS & other JIRA based applications and participation in the different working group meetings where system requirements are generated, assessed & flowed down to different segments. The Intern will also learn how to conduct trade studies by participating in analyses which will determine the proper course of action during the design phase of the project and working on various projects which will allow the intern to gain exposure to different satellite services and projects. What You'll Do:Work with different project engineers on requirements management, including learning the tools and processes, and entering, modifying, organizing, and exporting reportsAssist in writing requirements and specificationsSupport engineering analysis for different aspects of the assigned projectsSupport systems engineering technical interchange meetings Assist in chart preparation for project reviews and other meetingsSkills You'll Obtain:Real-world experience in chosen field of interest and related topics through multiple hands-on projectsCritical thinking and analytical skillsWorking in and contributing to a team environmentOrganization and time managementDeveloping techniques that can effectively be used in engineering trade studies Ability to write clear and testable requirementsDevelop technical writing skills A working knowledge of Mobile Satellite Systems & ServicesWhat You'll Need to Succeed:Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and professional demeanorAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAttention to detail and accuracyExperience desired with the following:STK experience3D CAD experienceMatlabPythonMagic Draw Experience & Education Requirements / EEO Things You Must Bring to the Table:Must be a minimum of 18 years of ageMust be currently enrolled in Aerospace/ engineering discipline or graduate degree program at an accredited academic institution.Must be a US CitizenMust be eligible to work in person Iridium is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
