Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities Looking for a meaningful internship opportunity that will give you real-world experience and help you grow as a professional? Look no further than the Iridium Internship Program where you will be an integral part of the Iridium teams shaping the future of satellite communications! The Iridium Internship program is a 12-week program that runs from May 20, 2024 to August 9, 2024. As an Iridium Intern, you'll begin making an impact on real projects from day one! During the program, come prepared to grow, develop, and learn alongside a team and the leaders of our company. Our Interns are offered a unique opportunity to provide valuable support to Iridium on projects and work assignments as well as the chance to participate in exciting activities that will allow you to connect with senior leadership and fellow interns. What You'll Do: The specifics will vary while the interns rotate through the two teams, and may include:Develop or update software tools for subsystem engineers and the operations floorUpdate or create operational work products such as scripts, procedures, and checklistsDepending on the intern's degree program, may perform engineering investigations and analysis of various satellite subsystemsPerforming simulations and presenting resultsWork assignments will be based on the degree field of the intern, areas of interest for the intern, and areas of need for the SNOC team. Skills You'll Obtain:Real-world experience in chosen field of interest and related topics through multiple hands-on projectsCritical thinking and analytical skillsWorking in and contributing to a team environmentOrganization and time managementTechnical writing and presentation skillsA working knowledge of Satellite OperationsCommunication skills to interact with SMEs for work productsSoftware development using any of Perl, Python, MATLAB, Java script and JAVAApplication of engineering design, principals, and theory to satellite operationsWhat You'll Need to Succeed:Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and professional demeanorAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAttention to detail and accuracy Experience & Education Requirements / EEO Things You Must Bring to the Table:Must be a minimum of 18 years of ageMust be currently enrolled in Computer Science/Computer Engineering bachelors or graduate degree program at an accredited academic institution.Must be a US CitizenMust be eligible to work in personIridium is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
