Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated Software & Automation Intern to join our team for a summer internship. The successful candidate will work closely with our experienced engineers to develop and validate automated test plans for pSemi’s RF Front End ICs such as RF switches, LNAs, and Power Amplifiers circuits and systems. You will be responsible for designing, extending, and implementing automation scripts that will enable us to perform test and measurement tasks quickly and accurately. Roles & Responsibilities This position has responsibility for: Develop, extend, and validate automated test systems for RFICs Hands on use of RF measurement equipment to validate performance of RFICs Design and implement automation scripts using C# or other scripting languages Perform data analysis and generate reports on test results Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot and debug issues that arise during testing Competency Requirements In order to perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: Critical Thinking: Skilled at finding logical flaws in arguments and plans; identifies problems and solutions that others might miss; provides detailed insight and constructive criticism into problems and complex situations Working with Ambiguity : Achieves forward progress in the face of poorly defined situations and/or unclear goals; able to work effectively with limited or partial information Displaying Technical Expertise : Keeps his/her technical skills current; effectively applies specialized knowledge and skills to perform work tasks; understands and masters the technical skills, knowledge, and tasks associated with his/her job; shares technical expertise with others Driving for Results: Aggressively pursues challenging goals and objectives; will to put in considerable time and effort to accomplish objectives; takes a highly focused, goal driven approach toward work Delivering High Quality Work: Critically reviews work processes to ensure quality; addresses problems that could impact quality; makes sure project deliverables and services meet all requirements and expectations; does not make the same mistakes twice Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills) Solid understanding of basic circuit theory Proficiency with general lab equipment such as: power supplies, o-scopes, multi-meters, spectrum analyzers Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, design patterns, coding best practices, and software development. Experience with C# or other object-oriented programming languages. Excellent problem-solving skills and high attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with git for version control and collaboration. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with RF test topics such as: 1 dB compression, smith charts, s-parameters, noise figure, power, pulsed power, and harmonics, etc. Familiarity with RF test equipment such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers . Understanding of design principles for scalability and performance. Experience with automating lab instruments and optimizing measurements for speed. Education Requirements Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
