Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities Looking for a meaningful internship opportunity that will give you real-world experience and help you grow as a professional? Look no further than the Iridium Internship Program where you will be an integral part of the Iridium teams shaping the future of satellite communications! The Iridium Internship program is a 12-week program that runs from May 20, 2024 to August 9, 2024. As an Iridium Intern, you'll begin making an impact on real projects from day one! During the program, come prepared to grow, develop, and learn alongside a team and the leaders of our company. Our Interns are offered a unique opportunity to provide valuable support to Iridium on projects and work assignments as well as the chance to participate in exciting activities that will allow you to connect with senior leadership and fellow interns. What We're Looking For:Iridium seeks a stand-out engineering student to contribute to the research, development, testing, and the sustaining engineering of the Iridium mobile products. Education or demonstrated experience in electrical, software, and/or systems engineering practice is necessary for success in this position. Additional potential responsibilities are detailed below; once selected, internship will be tailored to interests and strengths of candidate. What You'll Do:Circuit design and/or circuit evaluation, capture schematics, layout PCB's, populate PCB'sDefine system interfaces, create requirements, draft test plans, capture traceabilityPresent designs for formal review and discussionParticipate in hardware, software, and/or system design reviews for ongoing projectsPerform acceptance reviews of work conducted by subcontractorsReview test reports to validate issue closureRespectfully work cross functionally within the organizationSkills You'll Obtain:Real-world experience in chosen field of interest and related topics through multiple hands-on projectsCritical thinking and analytical skillsWorking in and contributing to a team environmentOrganization and time managementParticipation in advanced-level design, implementation, and test discussionsExposure to practical project management techniques and practicesBroadening of knowledge base through weekly technical and business topic seminarsWhat You'll Need to Succeed:Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and professional demeanorAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAttention to detail and accuracyDemonstrated hardware, software, or systems integration and troubleshooting experienceExperience in C and/or Python is highly desired for software engineering tasksExperience with common laboratory test equipment is highly desired for hardware engineering tasksKnowledgeable about embedded software and hardware systems for systems engineering tasks Experience & Education Requirements / EEO Things You Must Bring to the Table:Must be a minimum of 18 years of ageMust be currently enrolled in a bachelors or graduate degree program at an accredited academic institution for Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering are preferred.US Citizenship RequiredMust be eligible to work in person Iridium is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
