ORSA Technologies - a local 8(a) small business and integral member of the Southern Arizona community - is seeking qualified candidates to support the US Air Force at Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson, AZ. Information Technology / Mission Planning Support Specialist Summary: The successful candidate will maintain and support the USAF Mission Briefing and Mission Planning Cell areas, with specific emphasis on the computer hardware, software, and network common configuration baselines necessary to support the Air Force's mission. Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the USAF Mission Briefing and Mission Planning Cell areas, with specific emphasis on the computer hardware, software, and network common configuration baselines necessary to support the Air Force's mission. Maintain Mission Briefing Rooms Maintain Non-Secure Internet Protocol Router (NIPR) computers (40 total) with common configurations and provide technical support to enable: Warfighters-Edge (WEDGE) software functionality Smart Board connectivity/driver updates in each briefing room (40 total) Projector connectivity/lamp replacement Standardized desktop shortcuts Maintain Debrief computer/network ensuring A-10 video playback from memory devices: Ensure network connection to associated mission debrief peripheral devices Maintain network file sharing capability on local Network Attached Storage (NAS) Personal Computer Debriefing System (PCDS) Update monthly with applicable drivers/updates Ensure connectivity capable for 4x Removable Mass Media Device (RMMD) playback simultaneously Configure common PCDS profiles and standardize among briefing rooms Update map data & overlays for PCDS Time-Space-Position Information (TSPI) map viewing Joint Mission Planning Software (JMPS) Ensure capability matches Mission Planning Area computers Update all other Operating System and peripheral device drivers as needed. Map network printers (9 total: 6 classified & 3 unclassified) Provide squadron leadership and Group Resource Advisor with itemized requirements/recommendations for additional hardware/software that needs purchased. Maintain Mission Planning Area Maintain twelve Mission Planning Cell (MPC) systems in common configuration : Ensure monthly updates are executed by System Support Representative (SSR) contract Map data Digital Terrain Elevation Data (DTED) Digital Vertical Obstruction File (DVOF) Table Formatted Aeronautical Data Set (TFADS) Ensure connectivity between Universal Planning Component (UPC) computers and NAS Removable Mass Media Device (RMMD) upkeep (164 in current inventory): Update RMMDs monthly Process / renumber incoming RMMDs Ensure correct partitions are created Ensure Operations Group Standardization and Evaluation (OGV) specified overlays & map data are loaded, or as directed for Temporary Duty (TDY) Ensure current electronic-Chart Updating Manual (eCHUM) files are loaded Troubleshoot (weekly) Check programming functionality of incorrectly working RMMDs Reformat and program non-functioning RMMDs Submit all inoperable RMMDs through Logistics Readiness Squadron (LRS)/Systems Program Office (SPO) Data Transfer Cartridge (DTC) Health: Updated DTCs bi-annually and/or as required for TDY Ensure correct DTED is loaded for Local Area Flying, or as directed for TDYs Replace batteries as required Troubleshoot (weekly) Check functionality for incorrectly working DTCs Reformat non-functioning DTCs Submit all non-functioning DTCs through LRS/SPO Map printing: Maintain plotter capability connected to MPC computers Print OGV directed maps with correct scale/overlays/CHUM Download DTCs daily and print /save weapons events and target imagery of returning flights in preparation for debriefs. Connect RMMDs / set up RMMD debrief session on PCDS in appropriate debrief room. Maintain network connections and security. Maintain network file sharing capability. Be able to create a basic mission planning load to aid pilots in time critical situations. Ensure Squadron MPC Continuity Support in aid and training of new MPC Chiefs/Navigation Officer (NAVO) and serve as the stake for incoming MPC- assigned pilots in the squadron: Maintain continuity binder/documents for incoming MPC personnel Ensure inventory and MPC requirements are maintained for next MPC personnel Provide training in regards to mission hardware maintenance and upkeep RMM/DTC hardware Basic JMPS use and maintenance to include printing charts PCDS operation and upkeep Basic A-10C UPC use and maintenance TDY and Deployment preparation Inventory re-ordering and re-supply recommendations Provide hardware and software recommendations for purchase or for change to either the Group Resource Advisor or Group SSR. Provide local level solutions from an engineering standpoint for chronic hardware or software issues. Employee shall perform routine services between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with a 1 hour lunch break, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Federal Holidays. Clearance Required: This position requires the successful candidate to posses a SECRET DoD security clearance. Employee Qualifications: Successful candidates must possess the following qualifications a. All Air Force network user-required training to include Information Assurance (IA), and any specific requirements of DMAFB, Air Combat Command (ACC), United States Air Force (USAF), and/or Department of Defense (DoD) in order to maintain network user privileges. b. Proficiency in computer desktop support, troubleshooting, requirements, sources and procedures. c. Proficiency in analytical and diagnostic methods, procedures, and principles in identifying system failures. d. The ability to network computer equipment, servers, Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices, internal computer processes, application and utility programs, and magnetic media. e. The ability to program Visual Basic, HTML, and other related system/ application-based programming, systems analysis, and equipment operations. f. Skill in ordering and interpreting system dumps, ordering and implementing back-up recovery procedures to replace faulty tapes or disks, reallocating equipment usage to work around equipment malfunctions, recognizing priority contentions, removing work from an operating schedule, and other similar actions involving knowledge of the equipment, programs, and operating options. g. Skill in troubleshooting and resolving problems with information systems equipment, to include minicomputers, microcomputers, scanners, laser printers, color printers, modems, terminals, projectors, aircraft removable mass media devices, data transfer cartridges and system file servers. h. Skill in diagnosing and resolving problems with telecommunications, Local Area Network (LAN), and Wide Area Network (WAN) systems to carry out assignments which may not be typical in nature and require adaptation of standard procedures and established practices to ensure a positive outcome. i. Skill in developing and maintaining Worldwide Web Pages and other user defined automation solutions. j. The ability to lift at least 60 pounds. k. Ability to pass all pre-deployment requirements including a medical, dental, psychological, background, credit, and security screens as deemed necessary to be considered deployable. l. Ability to obtain all required immunizations in accordance with 32 CFR 158.7., Guidance for Contractor Medical and Dental Fitness m. Ability to use and maintain a computer system/network, equipment, software, and security and to train users on new computer systems used to support mission planning and debrief. n. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Read, write, speak, and understand English fluently. o. Knowledge of DoD and USAF security guidelines in regards to computer and network security up to a SECRET level. p. Knowledge of current system software supported at the organization to include operating system and application software packages. q. Skill in troubleshooting and resolving computer / network hardware and software problems which may not be typical in nature at an engineer level. r. Skill in interacting with industry experts, local and off-base DoD employees to maintain standards and knowledge base of A-10 mission debrief hardware and software. Education / Training / Certification Requirements: Language(s): Employees must read, understand, speak, and write English Education: High School Diploma Graduate or equivalent Certification(s): IAT II Baseline Certification IAW DOD 8570.01-M ( https://public.cyber.mil/cw/cwmp/dod-approved-8570-baseline-certifications/ ) Travel Requirements: Travel for Maintenance and Setup Deployable Mission Planning Cell Equipment: You may be required to travel to various locations within the continental United States (CONUS) and possibly outside of the continental United States (OCONUS) to support Temporary Duties (TDY) and deployments. The purpose of this travel will be, but not limited to: inventory and health assessment of MPC equipment, execute home base responsibilities, and, aid in the establishment of the Mission Planning Cell in a new location. Passports and visas may be required for OCONUS travel, therefore you must be eligible to maintain a United States' passport for the duration of your tenure in support of this client/contract. This position may need to travel up to 60 days a year. Additional Position Requirements: Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management and co-workers. Must have clear, concise and accurate communications skills in English, both verbal and written. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to employees or others. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner. Independent personal transportation to office or work site is required. When operating any vehicle for work purposes, must wear seat belt and in addition, no cellular devices are to be used when vehicle is in motion.
