Job Summary : As an Information Security Analyst I , you will design and implement IT security systems to protect the organization's computer networks from cyber-attacks. You will also help develop organization-wide best practices, standards , and policies for IT security. You will monitor computer networks for security issues, install security software , and document all security issues or breaches you find. The ideal candidate will have a h igh standard of professionalism and ethics as well as excellent problem-solving and strong analytical skills to identify and evaluate potential risks and develop solutions. Location: Ithaca, NY or Remote Job Responsibilities include : Collaborate with users to discuss computer data access needs, identify security threats and violations, and identify and recommend needed programming or process changes. Reviews violations of security procedures; provides training to ensure violations do not recur. Monitors and restricts access to sensitive, confidential, or other high-security data. Performs risk assessments, audits, and tests to ensure the proper functioning of security measures. Develop scripts, tools, and procedures to automate scans, assessments, and other monitoring and discovery activities Requirements : Education Bachelor in Cybersecurity (or another computer related) OR current professional certification (such as CISSP, CISA, GIAC, Sec+) OR m ust be willing to obtain professional certification within 1 yr . 2+ years of experience in a direct information security role OR minimum of 5 years of Information Systems experience with a demonstrated proficiency in solving advanced IT issues. Experience Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to present and explain complex technical topics, problems, and alternative solutions to others. Understanding of patch management Understanding of Active Directory security principles Having at least a novice to intermediate skill level in a scripting language (e.g. PowerShell, Python, VBA, SQL, etc ...) Proficient in supporting Windows based operating systems Experience working with Crowdstrike or another endpoint protection software a plus Physical Requirements Must be able to work in an office setting an average of 8 hours per day.
