Responsibilities: The Information Architect will support Barrow Wise's WMATA project and perform the following duties: Design and development of business capability models, building business process flows, connections, decomposing the events, activities, triggers, actionable items etc. within the business processes, etc. for enterprise information systems, including but not limited to asset management systems, procure to pay lifecycle, facilities management, incident management, configuration management etc. Structure the enterprise in terms of business capabilities, business information, and the operating models necessary to implement business strategies Design the business architecture of Information Systems in accordance with the WMATA's strategy and agreed solutions and practices Participate in the IS Strategic Plan and associated architecture process Works with IT Leadership Team to create the strategic roadmap for platforms/systems. Works to align the IT strategy and planning with the WMATA's business goals and targets. Understands the business strategies and implementation models to represent a view of the business/function/process/domain/department etc. Develops and maintains the enterprise architecture and capability models in alignment with the overall IT vision, supporting the information needs of the business and/or may guide and perform research and discovery activities, vet ideas, explore and validate emerging technologies, trends and possibilities relevant to strategic and technical direction, while supporting business innovation and playing the role of a change agent Perform other duties as assigned An Ideal Candidate has: US Citizenship Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent experience 10 years' experience as an enterprise architect using the standard architectural framework Enterprise Architecture certification (CEA, TOGAF) At least five (5) years of the required ten (10) years of experience must be in the direct supervision and management of major projects that involve providing professional support services and/or the integration, implementation and transition of large complex system and subsystem architectures. Must have led or been chief architect in major IT implementation efforts. Must demonstrate a broad understanding of client IT environmental issues and solutions and be a recognized expert within the IT industry. Must demonstrate advanced abilities to team and mentor and possess demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills. At least 10 years of verifiable experience in design and development of Enterprise Business Architecture and Information Architecture perspectives performing the application architectural work within the technology governance framework for WMATA applications Experience developing business capability, information, and data architecture Experience with enterprise architecture repositories and tools (Abacus) Experience interviewing and documenting stakeholder inputs to enterprise architecture projects Experience using Microsoft Excel to perform basic financial analysis of business processes Great with MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Visio, MS Project Proven ability to implement IT governance process improvements Perform high caliber qualitative and quantitative analyses Ability to meet the requirements of the deliverables listed above Experience in the transit industry Ability to mentor, collaborate and coordinate with peers, customers, and stakeholders Barrow Wise Consulting, LLC offers an ethical, challenging, diverse, and rewarding experience.
